JOB TYPE: Part time and full time, minimum of 25 hours per week. Not just a summer job! We’re looking for a longer term commitment
SCHEDULING: Every team member works at least one weekend day and several weekdays, 5 to 7 hour shifts, 25-40 hours per week. Set schedules.

Labels Consignment is a family-owned and -operated small secondhand clothing shop. We are an inclusive, community-focused business with thoughtfully curated consignment focusing on femme clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Our Consignment Shop Team Members will contribute to this special place by aiding in a a thoughtful, positive and productive manner. Other responsibilities include; loss prevention, customer service, ensuring cleanliness of physical space, selecting and processing items for consignment, account and inventory management, fixing, caring for and prepping items on consignment, merchandising, maintaining relationships with customers, consignors, and community, and ensuring the customer experience is positive. Job Duties
This is a heavy customer-facing role - community members, customers and consignors all walk through our doors and are all assisted with a smile, kindness, and a helpful attitude
Maintaining acute awareness of surroundings
Scheduling/changing/tracking consignment appointments
Reviewing items for consignment by assessing condition for holes, stains, odors, missing buttons, excessive wear
Processing and preparing items for consignment (inventorying in consignment software, tagging items, lint rolling, fabric shaving, steaming items).
Inventory management
Calm under pressure, stay focused in a fast-paced environment
Maintaining knowledge of brands, current styles, and different fabric qualities
Knowledgeable about causes and organizations we fundraise for
Cashiering: handling cash, processing credit cards, use POS system, bagging up purchased items
Maintains merchandise, organization and overall cleanliness of the shop
Constantly monitor the store for loss prevention
Friendly and professional communication with customers, consignors, staff and community by email, Instagram DM, phone, and text
Acts with integrity and respect
Adapts to changes required by the business
Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong attention to detail
Respectfully interacts with a diverse group of people from different backgrounds
Use sound and thoughtful judgment when making decisions
Work with owners and team members in a harmonious way
Maintains autonomy and stays productive
Occasionally assist with special event coordination
Physical Demands
Requires standing and walking approximately 5-8 hours per day. Required to ascend/descend stairs regularly, may be required to climb ladder for occasional cleaning tasks. Required to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. Must be able to effectively communicate with customers. Must be able to see and differentiate colors and defects in consigned items.
Qualifications
Retail experience required
Clothing/resale/mending experience highly desirable
Commit to a set schedule, with some flexibility per the needs of the business. Every Labels staff member is required to work at least one weekend and several weekday days.
